Hello! Setting goals is one of the most important steps toward success 😎.
If you are an admin user, you can create a goal period. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it 👇
Navigate to: Administration > Cycle Management
Click the “New Period” button in the top-right corner to open the Period Creation screen.
Fill in the following information:
Period Name (e.g., 2025 Q1 Goal Period)
Start and End Dates (specify when goals will start and end)
If you want to add a tag for the period, fill in this field. Tags help categorize your periods.
Make sure to select “Objectives” as the period type.
This ensures the period focuses only on business goals.
You can also select multiple period types simultaneously if needed.
After filling in all the information, click “Save and Continue” to move to the Goal Period Settings screen.
You can add categories to align goals with a theme or company priorities.
Click “Add” to create a category.
To make it mandatory for users to select this category when creating a goal, check the “Required” box.
Define check-in questions to track goal progress.
These questions allow users to report on their progress, challenges, or achievements.
There are five scoring options for goals:
Do not use scoring
Score based on progress
Manager scoring
Use scoring formula
Use code block
Select the method and configure the scoring logic.
(More details can be found via the related link.)
Enable Approval Process: Each goal will be sent to the designated reviewers.
The process includes four states: Draft, Pending, Rejected, Approved.
Only approved goals are included in the process.
Set start and end dates for actions within the period, which can be updated later if needed.
Enable Linked Goals (Alignment): Align new goals with existing individual, group, or company goals to see the big picture.
Only transparent goals can be aligned. Visibility must be Transparent or Determined by Goal Owner.
Make Linked Goals Mandatory: Check this box to enforce alignment.
Min/Max Goal Count: Define the maximum goals an employee can create. (0 = unlimited)
Min/Max Success Criteria Count: Set the allowed number of success criteria per goal.
Set Success Criteria Upper Limit: Define the maximum allowed limit for success criteria if using scoring or weighted structure.
Enable Goal Tagging: Allow employees to add tags to goals for better categorization.
Disable Success Criteria Assignment: Prevent assigning responsibility to success criteria if desired.
You can disable certain features within the period if not needed (e.g., no group/department goals).
Individual Goal Visibility:
Transparent: Everyone can see and track each other’s individual goals.
Private: No one can see others’ individual goals.
Determined by Goal Owner: The goal creator decides visibility during goal creation.
Success Criteria Progress Calculation: Can be managed in two ways. (See link for more details.)
Guidelines: Add guidelines for the period so employees can understand its content.
Reporting Frequency: Specify how often participants receive reports (e.g., weekly via email).
Disable reporting for certain goal types if needed.
Click “Save and Continue” to open the participant selection screen.
Select employees manually or include all employees by checking the box to the left of “Name”.
To add a group of employees by email instead of manual selection, click the “Person” button next to the filter and enter their email addresses separated by commas.
Click “Save and Continue” to review the period dates.
Once verified, click “Complete” to finalize the process.
🎉 And that’s it! Your goal period has been successfully created!
