Setting and approving goals is a key part of ensuring team alignment and maintaining a success-driven culture. Here’s your step-by-step guide to how the goal approval process works! 🚀
To activate the goal approval workflow:
1️⃣ Go to Admin Panel > Period Management > Period Settings > Agenda Section > Approval Process Checkbox
When you enable this checkbox, you’ll see two options:
✅ Employee selects the approver: Provides a more flexible process.
✅ Goals automatically sent to the employee’s direct manager: Ensures a more structured approval flow.
💡 Note:
Once the approval process is enabled, managers cannot create goals on behalf of their employees.
Goals must be created and submitted for approval by employees themselves.
During the approval process, each goal can exist in one of four statuses:
1️⃣ Draft: The goal has just been created.
2️⃣ Pending Approval: The goal has been submitted for approval.
3️⃣ Rejected / Sent Back: The manager has requested revisions.
4️⃣ Approved: The goal has been officially approved.
🎯 Approved Goals:
Can be updated through Check-ins.
Become visible to others (if visibility settings allow).
Are included in the scoring or performance evaluation system (if applicable).
💡 You can monitor approval statuses via:
Admin Panel > Period Management > Reports Icon > Reports > Approval Process
After creating your goals in Draft status:
1️⃣ Go to the Business Goals page.
2️⃣ Click the Submit for Approval button.
📌 Only goals that are still in draft status can be submitted for approval.
You’ll see goals awaiting your approval on your homepage.
1️⃣ Use the Approve or Reject buttons to take action.
2️⃣ If you’re sending a goal back for revision, add a comment — this note will be shared with the employee who created the goal.
✔️ Bulk Approval:
Go to the Goals Awaiting Your Approval section.
Click Bulk Edit, select multiple goals, then choose Approve or Reject.
If a goal was rejected or sent back, you’ll need to revert it to Draft to make changes:
1️⃣ Go to Business Goals > My Goals > Revert to Draft
📌 Updates can only be made before the deadline specified in the period agenda.
🔄 After making changes, don’t forget to resubmit the goal for approval.
By following this process, you ensure that all goals are:
Clearly reviewed and aligned with company priorities
Approved transparently
Managed systematically across the organization
This builds trust, accountability, and clarity — helping your team move forward together! ✨
