Hello there! 🖐️
Want to bring a team together around a common purpose? That’s exactly where Group Goals come in! 🚀
Let’s walk through how to create one — step by step. 👇
Group goals work just like team goals — they’re shared objectives that multiple people contribute to.
Just like individual goals, group goals can be linked to:
A Company Goal
A Department Goal
Or even another Group Goal 🔗
Each company may use this feature differently, for example:
To represent the organizational structure (departments, functions, teams)
To manage cross-functional or agile teams
In short, it’s perfect for uniting flexible or cross-departmental teams under shared goals. 🧵
1️⃣ Go to Business Goals > Add Goal > Group.
2️⃣ Fill out the fields in the window that opens. (Mandatory fields are marked accordingly.)
👤 Who is this goal for?
Select Group.
⚠️ Only group managers or admin users can create group goals.
👥 Select Group:
Choose which group this goal belongs to.
Admins can create goals for any group.
Group managers can only create goals for their own groups.
Senior managers can create goals for their sub-groups. 📌
🎯 Parent Goal (Optional):
If you’d like to align this goal with a higher-level goal, you can select one — but it’s not mandatory. 🙌
📈 Impact on Parent Goal:
When asked “Should this goal contribute to the parent goal’s progress?”, select Yes if you want this goal’s progress to influence the higher-level one.
💬 Description:
Add a short explanation of the goal.
(Optional, but helps make the goal more understandable ✨)
📁 Category:
If categories were defined when creating the period, choose the relevant one. (This may be optional or required depending on setup.)
📝 Goal Title:
Write down what your group aims to achieve.
📅 End Date:
Select when the goal is expected to be completed.
🏁 Success Criteria (KRs):
Each goal must have at least one success criterion (KR).
You can’t create a goal without success criteria. ⛔
👀 Where can I view group goals?
Go to Business Goals > My Goals, then open the Group Goals tab and select the group you want to view. 🤓
👤 Who can create a group goal?
Admin users
Group managers
Senior managers (for their related groups)
📝 Who can perform check-ins?
Group managers or admins.
However, if specific KRs are assigned to other employees, those individuals can perform check-ins for their own KRs. ✅
📢 Who can see group goals?
All employees included in the active goal period can view them, comment on KRs, and track progress. 🔍
🤔 Why can’t I see a specific group?
If there are no employees from that group included in the current goal period, the group won’t appear in the list.
For example, if no one from the Finance department is included in the period, you won’t see Finance as a group. 📭
Now creating group goals is a breeze! 🎉
Just pick the team you want to support, define the goal, and get started.
Because every strong team starts with a clear, shared purpose. 💪✨
